Riverstone and QBE agree $1.6bn reinsurance deal for long-tail liabilities

RiverStone International has entered into loss portfolio transfer (LPT) reinsurance agreements with QBE Insurance, representing approximately US$1.6bn of reserves.

The transactions cover North American middle market and workers’ compensation portfolios, and European liability books.

The transactions are subject to regulatory approval.
