

L&G has appointed Gareth Mee as CEO of institutional retirement, effective from 1 December 2025.
Mee is currently L&G’s chief investment officer (CIO) for institutional retirement and joined the firm in 2022 as CFO of L&G Capital.
In his time with the business, Mee has played a central role in developing several commercial relationships, including attracting third party capital towards the group’s direct investments, and most recently helping to shape the long-term strategic growth partnerships with Blackstone and Meiji Yasuda.
Before joining L&G, Mee spent almost 20 years at EY including as the partner leading its global investment advisory, UK actuarial and sustainable finance consulting practices.

Current CEO, Andrew Kail, will be appointed as group CFO (subject to regulatory approval).
