Rothesay has announced that it generated £5.2bn in new business premiums last year.
The pension insurer revealed that it also assisted 17 pension schemes to de-risk in 2025, bringing the total volume of new business executed since 2023 to an estimated £33bn.
Reporting its latest full-year trading results, Rothesay also revealed that it grew its assets under management to £73.5bn, meaning it now secures the pensions of nearly one million people, making £4.4bn in annual payments to its policyholders.
The group’s solvency position has continued to be strong with a solvency capital requirement coverage ratio of 246%, and surplus capital of £5.4bn.
Rothesay CEO, Tom Pearce, said: “Rothesay delivered another very positive year, with strong financial performance and value generation. We made excellent progress in investing the significant volumes of assets generated over the last two years and will continue to do this cautiously given the turbulent market backdrop.”
Pearce added that 2026 “promises to be another exciting year” as the group aims to drive innovation in the pension risk transfer market,
