Länsförsäkringar Fondliv's assets under management (AUM) increased by 11% to SEK 326bn in the first half of 2026, driven by positive market performance and strong inflows of new business.
The results were reported by Länsförsäkringar’s life & pension business unit, which also includes Länsförsäkringar Liv, where assets under management totalled SEK 106bn at the end of June.
Länsförsäkringar Fondliv’s total premium income increased to SEK 17.2bn during the first half of 2026, up from SEK 15.3bn a year earlier. Paid premiums rose by 17%, while transferred business volumes increased by 7%.
The business reported a profit of SEK 266m, up from SEK 279m for the same period in 2025.
The average customer return for unit-linked insurance during the period was 9.9%, while guaranteed management generated a return of 5.9%.
During the first half of the year, Länsförsäkringar Fondliv added five new pension funds and replaced five existing funds with alternatives offering higher sustainability standards or greater return potential.
As a result, 99.5% of customers’ unit-linked assets are now invested in funds that either promote sustainability or have sustainability as an investment objective under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
Meanwhile, Länsförsäkringar Liv, which is closed to new business and manages traditional insurance portfolios, reported returns of 6.1% in new traditional, 4.4% in old traditional and 8.5% in new world.
The average bonus rate during the first half was 8% in both new traditional and old traditional.
Under the Solvency II framework, the capital ratios of Länsförsäkringar Fondliv and Länsförsäkringar Liv were 138% (140% H1 2025)nand 226% (213% H1 2025), respectively.
Länsförsäkringar said the ratios were affected by the transfer of the risk insurance portfolio from Länsförsäkringar Liv to Länsförsäkringar Fondliv.
Commenting, Länsförsäkringar Fondliv CEO and head of the Life & Pensions business unit at Länsförsäkringar AB, Sara Rindevall, said the first half of 2026 was characterised by continued geopolitical uncertainty, which affected the global economy and the financial markets.
“The weak start to the year, with falling equity markets, was followed by a clear recovery during the second quarter, something that was reflected in our customers' returns," she said.
She added that in May Länsförsäkringar Fondliv acquired Länsförsäkringar Liv's risk insurance business, creating "further opportunities to offer a competitive proposition".
